Beautiful Handcrafted Ceramic Products

Handmade from New Zealand Stoneware Clay

A calm space with a personal touch.

Experienced potter Andrew Killick loves being accessible to people,
connecting with them and sharing ideas and stories.

As well as our beautiful, handcrafted ceramic products made in NZ,
we also offer pottery lessons in our Oamaru workshop for individuals and groups.

Our Product Collections

All of our products are handmade from New Zealand Stoneware clay and we only use Silenzio glazes.
As these are handmade, some minor size and colour variances may occur. Each piece is individually thrown for you and the pottery has the makers mark stamped into it so you can be assured of the quality.
Our products are dishwasher and microwave safe (excluding Bluestone glaze).

Our shop will be back online early May.

About Silenzio Pottery

Andrew Killick is the potter and craftsman behind Silenzio Pottery.

Our workshop is based in beautiful Oamaru, and we love using the local materials to make our unique handcrafted ceramic products.

Learning the craft has taken years, and Andrew has been behind the wheel for a very long time, creating unique bespoke pieces, and also sharing his passion for pottery when teaching others his craft.

“One of the things I love most about being able to craft these pieces is to share the experience, and how when I make a pot it has the potential to carry my finger prints for thousands of years. I hugely enjoy the imperfections of handmade pottery. Somehow for me this is what I strive for, the perfection of the imperfection. The way a pot sits in your hands or you have the urge to pick it up, what you can imagine eating or drinking from that vessel, where you see it in your home, how you see it being used. You may even glimpse a finger print!  In its purest form, simplicity.”
